Rules of Conduct

Tembow Rules

As our good friend and inspiration Walter Sobchak once said, “There are rules.” Like Walter, we choose to live by rules. Our rules are in place to empower the Tembow community to publish and share amazing content.

Tembow’s rules are designed to allow our users to do two primary things:

  1. effortlessly share original content that they have written, and
  2. discover, curate and re-post content authored by others to their own blogs and social media sites.

Whether your reason for using Tembow is to be a nationally recognized expert on a subject, to have an interesting and useful blog so your customers will value you as a resource, or something entirely different, we are here to help support you. We only ask that you follow the basic rules below and act in good faith when you use Tembow.

Please don’t be the bad apple, rotten egg, spoiled milk, moldy bread …ok, you get the point. And Team Tembow clearly needs to clean out its refrigerator.

In case you don’t understand what bad food smells like, we have written a helpful guide with some of what we consider to be unacceptable behavior.

Threats of Violence

Don’t threaten other users with violence.

Hateful Slurs

We’re supportive of free speech. But if things are getting out of hand, we reserve the right take down hateful slurs. It’s our call when/if that happens.

Harm to Minors

Don’t post anything relating to minors that is inappropriately sexual or violent. Don't bully or harass minors.

Spam

Don’t spam. Don’t use deceptive tags or links or otherwise mislead other users about what you’ve posted. Don’t embed malicious code in your posts. Don't use deceptive means to generate revenue or traffic, or create posts with the primary purpose of affiliate marketing.

Mass Registration and Automation

Don’t register accounts or post content automatically, systematically, or programmatically. Also, don’t extract content (whether manually or by automated means) from Tembow. Everything in Tembow is subject to the original author’s copyright and re-publication is only permitted when Tembow allows you to publish that content. You are, though, encouraged to make references to Tembow content on your own blog and social media sites once it has been published. There are a few more guidelines listed in the Terms of Service under “Limitations On Automated Use.” Don’t violate those.

Attribution

If the posts made available to you from a feed, group or peer connection require attribution of the original author’s name and/or company, do not circumvent this requirement when re-posting all or substantially all of the text of the post. Leaving out attribution when posting a headline or a few words of a post as a teaser is ok.

Copyright and Trademark Infringement

Respect the copyrights and trademarks of others. Unless you are authorized to use someone else's copyrighted or trademarked work (either expressly or by legal exceptions and limitations like fair use), don't do it. It is our policy to respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement as per our Terms of Service and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Deceptive Impersonation

Don’t impersonate someone else in a deceptive way. Parody and ridicule are fine, but make clear that that’s what you’re doing.

Sexually Explicit Content

Don’t use Tembow to post or share adult content including pictures, videos, or written posts of a sexually explicit nature. This is not the place for that stuff. You’re probably looking for Reddit.

Privacy Violations

Don’t use Tembow to fish for personal information in deceptive ways. Don't post content that violates others’ privacy, including personally identifying or confidential information like credit card numbers, social security numbers, or non-public contact information.

Phishing and Other Frauds

Don’t use Tembow to engage in phishing or fraud.

If You Break the Rules

If you violate these policies, you may receive a notice via email. If you don’t explain yourself or fix the problem, your account may be suspended and your IP address may be blocked. We do our best to act fairly, but we always reserve the right to suspend accounts or remove content, without notice, for any reason, but particularly to protect our services, infrastructure, users, or community. We reserve the right to enforce, or not enforce, these policies in our sole discretion, and these policies don't create a duty or contractual obligation for us to act in any particular manner.

We might change these rules. Because we don’t like surprises, we’ll let you know whenever we make changes to these rules in accordance how we say we’ll act in the Terms of Service. Except cake. Surprise cake is fantastic.

If you have questions or feedback, don't hesitate to let us know.
